SMOKE FILTER CONSUMPTION TEST WITH 5 BAR VALVES

OBJECTIVE: To empirically evaluate the compressed air savings that can be obtained by replacing competing firing valves with the new Ecotech by SMC solution during week 20.

Test carried out on XXX filter equipped with two mirror tanks of 42 valves each installed in the ceramic factory. One tank was maintained with valves already installed by the filter manufacturer while the other was equipped with valves SMC JSXFA-X12 series.

The Ecotech by SMC valves of the JSXF-X12 series are characterized by a new construction technology that eliminates the return spring of the diaphragm ensuring reduced consumption and increased useful life (expected air saving> 30% and valve useful life 10 million cycles).

The tests carried out include measuring the air consumed by the valves by means of a SMC PFMB * series flow meter with full scale at 1000 l / min. Each tank has a dedicated flow meter which, thanks to the separate power supplies of the two tanks, will allow you to see the air consumption accumulated during the monitoring period. These conditions make it possible to evaluate consumption under exactly identical operating conditions between the two valves.

CONSUMPTION TEST WITH VALVES POWERED AT 5 BAR - week 20

The sequencer feeds two valves simultaneously, one of the competition on a tank and an Ecotech by SMC on the mirror tank. The air supplies are separate, so it was possible to detect the tank refill data individually.

PROJECTED IMPACT

The filter was monitored for one week (week 20). Thanks to the help of the two flow switches installed on the two circuits, we were able to obtain the air consumption that occurred in the aforementioned period of time. So, with an operating pressure of 5 bar, we have a ECONOMIC SAVING and LOWER ENVIRONMENTAL EMISSIONS BY 17%.
