SMOKE FILTER CONSUMPTION TEST WITH VALVES POWERED AT 4 BAR

OBJECTIVE: To empirically evaluate the compressed air savings that can be obtained by replacing competing firing valves with the new Ecotech by SMC solution.

Test performed on XXX filter equipped with two mirror tanks with 42 valves each installed in the ceramic factory. One tank was maintained with valves already installed by the filter manufacturer while the other was equipped with Ecotech by SMC valves JSXFA-X12 series.

Ecotech valves by SMC JSXF-X12 series are characterized by a new construction technology that eliminates the return spring of the diaphragm ensuring reduced consumption and increased useful life (expected air saving> 30% and valve useful life 10 million cycles).

The tests carried out include measuring the air consumed by the valves by means of a SMC PFMB * series flow meter with full scale at 1000 l / min. Each tank has a dedicated flow meter which, thanks to the separate power supplies of the two tanks, will allow you to see the air consumption accumulated during the monitoring period. These conditions make it possible to evaluate consumption under exactly identical operating conditions between the two valves.

CONSUMPTION TEST WITH VALVES POWERED AT 4 BAR.

The sequencer feeds two valves simultaneously, one of the competition on a tank and one Ecotech by SMC on the tank speculate. The air supplies are separate, so it was possible to detect the tank refill data individually.

Simulation of savings on the maximum life of a competitor valve (estimated at 500.000 cycles).

PROJECTED IMPACT

Evaluating the actual data transmitted directly by the filter in question that we find in the table below, and simulating to work at a pressure of 4 bar (this to have the same degree of cleanliness), we can therefore confirm that the savings are evident (-27%) namely a ANNUAL ECONOMIC SAVINGS of € 5.000,00 and a substantial one LOWER ENVIRONMENTAL EMISSION of 2.358.720 liters.

Finally, we can say that the conditions change from filter to filter, which is why we decided to use the competitor valve life cycle (500.000 cycles) always taking into account the SMC valve life (10.000.000 cycles).
